Between August 2023 and July 2024, 190,044 hectares of logging were mapped in Mato Grosso, which represents a 13% reduction in the area explored in the state compared to the period of 2023, where 219,032 hectares were mapped.

The analysis of the legality of this mapped logging activity, based on forest exploitation authorizations issued by the State Secretariat for the Environment (Sema/MT), identified that 74% of the area (141,118 hectares) was exploited legally, that is, with valid authorization and within the authorized area.
